Where to get a different font?
I'm looking for a thin font. I'm using Century Gothic for my logo letters, but it looks a little shakey when it's displayed on a web page.

Can you tell me how to import a new font into GIMP?

And suggest a great place to get a new thin font? (feel free to suggest a clean, thin, professional font)

Thanks

You could also try making them in Inkscape, depends if your website will take a Vector image, and if it will, vectors can be resized proportionally without quality loss

RE: Where to get a different font?
Thanks for the replies. I'll look at Dafont. I'm on an XP.
I don't have a web page to show you, but, I don't know if the font has jagged edges, it's just that the font isn't that sharp. I've attached an example.

I'd like it to be "resized proportionately without quality loss", how can I create text in a vector? Thanks again.

RE: Where to get a different font?
Inkscape I am really not famliar with, but I am sure that there is a text tool... if not that is horrid...
and the resizing proportionly is width up by 20% height up by 20% and if it is saved as a Vector, then there will not be quality loss.

Antiallias (Sorry can't spell) maybe?

RE: Where to get a different font?
Thank you for your "path from text" instruction, but it's a little beyond my present GIMP skill level at the moment. I don't understand "until ou stoke it (that will show it outline) or use Select/from Path (creates a selection from the text) and fill it".

Also, can someone tell me how to add a new font to GIMP, from Dafont?

Thanks again

It depends on your operating system.

Here's one way:

Download the font.

Left-click the zipfile to open it.

Copy/paste the font file into the C:\WINDOWS\Fonts folder.

Start>Computer>C:>Windows>Fonts>Paste the UTF there

Just what I was thinking, this is probably the easiest way. Also make sure not to get too many, GIMP Will just Flip when you open it.
