Using the fade command.
I've just downloaded and installed GIMP so it really might be too early to ask this, but after searching I've not been able to find much of an answer. In Photoshop most of my work uses the fade command. I've discovered this in GIMP and it works with some tools but not others (it's grayed out).
So for example, if I wanted to draw with the paintbrush and then fade it to 50%, how would I do so? I'm suspecting there's some way to do it that doesn't involve Edit > Fade. Thanks!
