Using GIMP to draw animated sprites?
My girlfriend and I are looking to create a computer game. I'm doing the programming and she's doing drawings for the graphics.

I want to help her set up a good and effective work flow. She has already used GIMP for a few drawings projects, but never for animation. Is GIMP the right tool for this job, or are there software that's better suited (Linux)? If GIMP is well suited, I'll gratefully take any and all suggestions, tips and hints for working effectively with creating animation in GIMP. Typically the goal will be to create animated movements of 2D characters and objects of ~= 100x100 px size, or at least in that ballpark.
