UFRaw
I am wanting to start working with RAW and looking for a good program. I saw that UFraw integrates with GIMP, howver, I have also read that it is not comaptible with GIMP 2.8. What is the word here? If not, do you know of a good RAW program that is?

Thanks, J.

UFRaw is not bad ... but ... it is also not the best.
there are better alternatives out there - RAW-Therapee, Photivo, LightZone and so on ...
they do the better job for photo-processing and they did it, like ofnuts wrote, in 16bit

RE: UFRaw
Thanks people. I downloaded DPP. I am going to play around with it. I havn't done RAW before and thought I would give it a go as it seems a lot of professional photographers recommend it...

I was given a Canon Rebel sl1 as a gift and it is used so it did not have the software that normally comes with the camera. I am using it and having a good time with it and I already see it picking up my photography up a bit. From the menu it looks like it can do jpeg and raw at the same time, which sounds to be a away to go..

Thats the good thing about flash drives. I use them religeously. :-)..
