Two different text colours and font.
Hi. I am new to Gimp, and am using version 2.6.10.

I want to use various colours and different size fonts for letters and words in a paragraph. The way I am doing it is by making a new layer for each different colour and font (or size) I need, which seems to take forever.

Is there an easier way of doing this? I don't seem to be able to do this on one layer as the whole of the paragraph changes to the new colour or font.

Hope what I am asking is clear. Thanks in advance.

RE: Two different text colours and font.
Well Gimp 2.8 once you add/edit text you'll have the option to do that with it making each word or whatever have a different color, bold, italic, etc: etc: and the other text/letters or whatever the same, but gotta wait till Dec. 27th till the release (as far as I'm aware of anyway) which is 4 more days.

Until then if you're using 2.7.0 or lower just put all the text in it's own layer, and then make selections in which what text, or whatever you wanna change it's color (I recommend the paths tool, but free select is good for this as well) and once you've made the selection(s) you want go to Colors/Colorize and you can adjust the color you want, and repeat how many times you want for whatever colors you want to look different. (I'd just wait till 2.8, if I were you, the release if coming real close anyway, or at least give Gimp 2.7.1 or 2.7.2 a try)

RE: Two different text colours and font.
That's great, thanks. That's made it much easier for me to change the font color.

I will install 2.8 when its released. Thanks.

RE: Two different text colours and font.
No problem, GimpUsers.com is where most of the Gimp developers are, and where you'll find updates on it, what's going on with development of Gimp, etc: etc: I do believe they should actually post it on the official gimp website on their news so people would know more, cause not every Gimp user goes to gimpusers, gimppimp, meet the gimp, gimper, gimpchat, gimptalk, youtube, vimeo, etc: etc: So if it's added on the site it'd be more beneficial to the users, of Gimp, and I also think that the site needs to be redesigned as well cause some idiots don't know how to navigate, and find the tutorials link at the bottom of the official site.
