transform similar colour in a specific colour
Hi there!

Do you know if there is a method to transform all the pixel of a colour similar to X(in RGB values) to X ?

Thanks in advance!

RE: transform similar colour in a specific colour
Define "similar" Smile And do you need to do this for only one specific color in an image and leave everything else untouched, or do you want to reduce the image to a small number of colors? For the first case, "select by color" and then paint the obtained selection. For the second, "Colors/Map/Palette map".

First of all, thanks for the suggestions!

I think it's the first case scenario.

I will try them right now!
Similar I mean:

"Full" Pink 255 0 255

Similar: 254 0 254 or 253 1 255 or 255 4 254

The first solution worked almost perfectly.. there is still some pink anyway.. is it possible to adjust the settings in some way?

Maybe could be better a command to change a certain range of colours (the above similar ones) in another specific colour (the full pink)

RE: transform similar colour in a specific colour
"Select by color" has a "threshold" slider, so you can decide how close to "pink" the selected pixels should be.

There is also "Colors/Map/Rotate colors" that let you select a range of colors (say, from Red to Yellow) and map it to another range (Green to blue). The input range can be rather narrow if needed. On the other hand it really works with hues rather than colors (for it a pink and a red may have the same hue)

Several methods

1) General photo, and wide "similarity" range: Colors/Map/Rotate colors

2) For computer graphics with uniform colors and clean sharp edges
- add alpha channel
- color-to-alpha with selected color (makes pixels of that color transparent)
- insert layer filed with target color under original layer

3) For ugly results:
- select by color with require treshold
- bucket-fill selection

If it's computer graphics (not photo) beware of these side effects.
