The GIMP menu search tool
Heard of 'Tito' yet? We've developed something that could ease the learning curve. It could also help you work faster if you know what to do with it Smile
Here's a demo - http://youtu.be/G0PuH1LFWhA?hd=1

What do you think?

RE: The GIMP menu search tool
Not convinced...

For most people the problem is that they don't even know what they are looking for (or at least how it is called). That's why they don't find it in the menus... Others know the name but also know where to find it.

Tito aims to cure these very problems.
For beginners it will help discover functionality. So for example, searching for 'resize' will list scale. It will also help to choose from a variety of similar tools by seeing their tooltips all at once (In contrast to hovering the cursor over every menuitem and waiting for a tooltip). And its a good answer to 'Whats that xxx tool in GIMP?'... Smile

And for power users, using Tito I believe will be way faster, going by the 'Jigsaw' and 'Grid' examples from the video.

So it will save time spent on searching/traversing manually in the menus... you can see http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28366148/TITO-Specifications where the functionalities are detailed...

If you already have a gimp-build and want to try tito, it might be quicker to download this, merge into existing build and rebuild.

Looking forward to some constructive feedback! Smile
