Text with solid Background on image Help
Hi,

I'm a complete beginner and trying to add text to an image with a background. An example of what I am trying to do is shown in the example photo attached.

Could anyone help or suggest a tutorial I could follow?

Many thanks

Peter Jones

RE: Text with solid Background on image Help
You just use the Text tool (Text). This create a new layer with the text in it, that you can position as you wish.

If you also want the semi-transparent text background, just add another layer, position it between the background and the text by dragging it in the Layers list, fill it with required tint, and set its opacity using the Opacity slider at the top of the Layers list.

If you haven't got the Layers list displayed by default, hit Ctrl-L.

Download attached XCF for an example.
