Strange lighting effect.

I've been messing around with this shape, mostly based on ideas from the skull medallion tutorial over at Gimpusers, and was wondering what is causing the white jagged line that appears along the bottom of the wing and also to the outer edges. It only appears after I have run the Lighting Effects filter.
It's not too obvious on the full size image of the batman type symbol, but becomes quite noticeable when a section is enlarged.
Hopefully there's a way to avoid this after effect or a way to make it less obvious. Any thoughts on this appreciated.

RE: Strange lighting effect.
Many of the lines in your image are pixellated (see the inside of the head), so this could be the result of bump-mapping applied to such lines.

RE: Strange lighting effect.
Thanks. I'll have to have a play around with this and see what I can come up with.

I think there's a script somewhere that can smooth out theses kind of lines. I was looking at a picture of a goblet over at DA and the author said he had used this script to get the smooth curves. Now all I've got to do is try to find the picture again.

As an update to this I found that if I run G'Mic then Contours and then Gradient Norm with the smoothness setting set to 3.00 it removes all of the pixelated affect from the lines, and depending on the colours that are used it can give a not bad neon light affect around the image.

G'Mic is a real useful thing to have.
