sparse, even brushes?
Hi. I was able to find several hundred free brushes available online, with all kinds of cool shapes and sizes, but not the simple thing I was looking for. I need a brush with just a few pixels in it (maybe ten or twenty), evenly and somewhat randomly distributed across the brush's circle. Or better, a pack of brushes like that, with various densities (i.e., less or more pixels) and various shapes of the brushes containing perimeter (circle, square, star, etc.)

Does anyone know of such a brush pack? Sorry, I don't know what that kind of brush is technically called (or I probably would have found it by now).

RE: sparse, even brushes?
Do it yourself:

1) create round selection of required size
2) stroke the selection 1px
3) (optional) apply threshold to remove anti-aliasing
4) use "Filters/Noise/Spread" (used 10x10 in image below)

If it's too dense, you can remove pixels:
5) add layer mask
6) fill mask with "Filter/Render/Clouds/Solid Noise" (push size and details sliders to their mask)
7) start threshold tool: by moving the threshold you'll include/exclude pixels and thus set the density to your liking:
