Source Forge...
One of the Gimp sites--I can't remember which, .org maybe--stopped using Source Forge. Does anyone know why? There was a problem with malware with one of the download sites but I'm not sure it was Source Forge. I want to download a plug-in but I don't want to use Source Forge if it's nasty.

The Gimp files moved to their own site gimp.org when Sourceforge started using advertising, sometimes in their installers, but nothing nasty.

Apart from that Sourceforge is safe to use.

edit: here is an article about the spat

RE: Source Forge...
Amazing! I'm pretty sure that THAT is the article I read a few months ago. I remember wondering what that bird-looking thing is in the site logo. I probably even bookmarked the site... along with about ten thousand other really cool, really useful, far out sites.

Fat lot of good, that does me!

The article stuck in my consciousness because I got stung by one of those "DOWNLOAD NOW" buttons a year or so ago. Many thanks!
