[Solved] How to have random brush rotation
Hey,
I'm a semi-noob (I guess posting in the noob section is appropriate), and I was wondering how to have a jittered brush rotation for drawing. I'm trying to create a fingerprint-type texture for some sort of book texture, and it would be really helpful if I could do that.

RE: How to have random brush rotation
My problem seems to be that I can't find the brush dynamics tab. I have 2.6.10 on Windows 7, and I can't find the paint dynamics thing. :/

RE: How to have random brush rotation
Your top toolbars aren't visible. The brush dynamics are found under "Tool Options" in the toolbox window.

1
Right-click the white square(your canvas) in your screenshot on the left side.

2 Then click to "Windows > Toolbox" to raise the toolbox.

If you still can't see the toolbox (as described in step#3)

Right-click again on the white canvas
go to "Edit > Preferences"
- Once open, navigate to "Windows Management" on the left sidebar.
- Click "Reset Saved Window Positions to Default Values"
- Last, click OK

3 You should now see RectselectEllipseselectFreeselectBycolorselect near the top of the toolbox window and
CloneHealPerspectivecloneBlurSmudgeDodge near the bottom
Under that is a white or black box (or current color)

And under that is the "Tool options"

Click Paintbrush paintbrush tool, then click the Dynamics section.

RE: How to have random brush rotation
Come on guys op is using Gimp 2.6.10, screenshot points that way as well, gimp 2.6 brushes.

Question Score Why are you using Gimp 2.6?
Upgrading to 2.8 is not difficult, when that is installed you can reinstall gimp 2.6 in parallel and have the best of both worlds.

Gimp 2.6 has limited brush dynamics. What you could do is make an animated brush from a number of rotated layers.

RE: How to have random brush rotation
There is a dynamics section, but it only has check boxes for opacity, size, hardness, and color.
Sorry, @rich2005, I will do that. Please don't forget though, I am a noob and don't know some of these things. I'll update to 2.8 A.S.A.P.
