Slicing a huge image and saving smaller tiles
Hi,

I have one huge generated/rendered image on which i want to select areas that I can save in separate files.
The selected areas have different width and height. They can be oblong, but they don't have to.
It is important that I can save the areas I selected, so I don't have to reselect all areas if I change the image a bit.

Is there a tool or plugin that do this?

Alternatively, can I save the steps that i have done and later reapply them to another image?

RE: Slicing a huge image and saving smaller tiles
- you can save & restore selections (select/save to channel and "channel to selection")
- when you have a selection you can do Image/Crop to selection if the selection isn't rectangular it can also be used to delete the part that should become transparent.
- when you have a selection you can also do Image/Guides/New from selection
- when you have guides you can use Image / Transform /Guillotine to split your image along the guides

If you want to import/export selections in images:
- channels can be transferred between images (or even saved as a PNG file)(by mapping selection to transparency and vice-versa)
- for simple selection shapes it would be even easier to define "Paths" (that can be exported/imported as SVG files) and then use "Path to selection"
