Sketch to Clean Lines [Project Organic Spaceship]
I sketched this out for the design of my organic ship;

[Image: nngw.png]

I open my sketch in the GIMP and place a solid white layer below it and Ctrl+Shift+N and place a transparent layer on the top. Note, I turn my opacity on the sketch down to 30% so I can see to work.

1. Working on the top layer I the Paths Tools (B) and begin selecting curve points.

2. Ctrl+Left Click to complete the loop contecting the anchors. Drag any line to make a curve. Little squares called handles will appear on each end.

3. Use the handles to adjust the curves.

4. Choose Stroke Path, set the width to 5 pixels

5. Continue to make paths along other point until you have the details you want. These bold lines won't appear in my final since this is just an outline for me to place my textures.

Now I have a working outline to begin my work.

Remember to get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.
