sizing trouble
I'm new to gimp, but have used photoshop for a few years to create and print 2 inch labels for my candles. I'm by no means an expert... I just know enough to be dangerous and get a label created. Smile

Recently I lost access to photoshop (computers crashing and not finding my old photoshop disc) and so I decided to try gimp instead of buying photoshop again. I found it similar enough that I jumped right in creating a new label design. I set my new file to be 2 inches square with 300 resolution. Got the label designed just fine, but when I went to print it into the label template sheet I've always used (from labelsbythesheet) my new label appeared to be 6 inches square - not 2 in. I tried resizing (scaling?) the layer, but the results were not a good quality at all.

I started over and adjusted the sizing of my label, but when I dragged & dropped my label into the template sheet and then printed it, the text was all pixelated and fuzzy.

I'm now at a loss of where to go next. I'm used to using the label sheet templates layered with my labels so I can hide or show layers according to how many I need to print. If there is another way that's better to print label sheets or partial sheets in gimp I'd be grateful for help!

RE: sizing trouble
OK... Feeling a little foolish now. As soon as I submitted this post I went back to 'the drawing board' to rethink and go through each step. And suddenly it came to me to check the resolution of my template sheet. It was set at 100. It should be 300 I believe, so I changed it, dropped my original 2 inch label I created and printed. It worked beautifully! Ugh! I guess that's the way it goes. Solve the problem after hours of frustration and then begging the world for help! Blush

I'm so relieved and still thankful for this forum. Maybe this will help someone else anyway. Smile
