Simple Animation
I am trying to make an animation using these two pictures:

What came out when I exported it looks cartoony. What did I do wrong?

RE: Simple Animation
You did pretty good since the original pictures are slightly offset.

Nothing wrong with you animation considering there are only two images...You can smooth the movement a bit if you create intermediate frames by blending the two images (top at 50% opacity). Then you duplicate the result, and use Frame 1, Blended frame, Frame 2, Blended frame copy.

RE: Simple Animation
Thank you. Can you see that the ears look cartoonish? What caused that?

I will fiddle around with trying to blend the two images.

Edited to add that the leaf in the bottom left of the picture looks cartoonish, too.

RE: Simple Animation
In a GIF, which is color-indexed, you only have 256 different colors... so you don't get the smooth transitions you have in more color-rich formats. You can mitigate this by using "dithering" which is an option you have when you explicitly make the image use indexed-color (Image>Mode>Indexed) instead of having the indexed color created on the fly when you save as GIF.:

RE: Simple Animation
Now that I notice it, you can see the grass moving around the ears... They may need a closer shave or a better blend :=)
