silver color
how do you make a silver color that actually looks silver & not grey, I guess the main thing is how do you make it metallic looking?

RE: silver color
The shiny metallic silver you're looking for isn't so much a color as it is the reflectivity or "shininess" of the object. Unfortunately that isn't something you can just dial up on an RGB color chart. It can however be simulated with various techniques. Your best bet to start off is to check out the link for "GIMP Tutorials" up in the top right corner of this forum's headers. That will take you to gimpology.com where you should try searching with terms like chrome, silver, metallic, reflection, or mirror. After checking out a few different tutorials and experimenting with the different methods you can get a feel for what might work best for your current project.
