Script-fu dialogs appear under the main Window
After upgrading to The GIMP 2.8, when I select a Script Fu add-in, the start UNDER The GIMP. I have to pull the GIMP window down to find the add-in's dialog boxes. Is there any way to make them start atop The GIMP? -- Chuck

Can you please post a screenshot of what your menu looks like before(and after) you pull the Gimp window down?

Then we maybe be better able to help you.

RE: Script-fu dialogs appear under the main Window
I am guessing Windows since the only thing certain about M$ window management is the uncertainty.

I been playing around with Gimp 2.8.10 in my Win7 VM's to see what happens. Used to be that playing with the Edit -> Preferences -> Window Management -> Window Manager Hints settings would get a solution.
The default is 'utility window' which AFAIK is the correct setting. Does not seem to make much difference in single window mode anyway, a bit of a legacy from the separate windows mode.

Typical is the old script to make a button, File -> Create -> Buttons -> Round Button.

Start this up and the first time, it pops under. Hidden by the main window. Click its icon in the tool bar to bring to the top and the next time it is used, it pops on top. No consistency.

Clutching at straws this utility might help. always-on-top

I can only comment for my 2 Win7 VM's (32 & 64) starting this up before starting Gimp seems to fix the problem. Not an extensive test by any means. No installation, unzip, copy the exe to the desktop, start it.

Might be worth a try. Now back to my linux KDE which has more window management options built in than I will ever need Wink
