Saving to pdf
Hello I am desperate! I don't know if I'm encountering trouble with gimp or pdf complete. I have 2.6 and I'm trying to save a 5x7 image as a 5x7 pdf. As far as I can tell in doing everything correct. However the pdf always saves scaled as 8.5x11 page with a 5x7 image so when it prints on the 5x7 paper it's tiny!
Please help if you can!
Thank you!

RE: Saving to pdf
I've set every margin and page size I can find but maybe it is scaling it down even though the printer can print to the edge.

I design invitations and I save to pdf so I can sell the digital files. In this instance I already did the invitations in pdf format on 8.5x11 paper and they printed great. Now I need to print the RSVP cards and when I save as jpg or png the colors print differently than the invites. I don't know if that's the format or the programs I've used to print.

I also for the life of me can't get gimp to print directly. I hit print and it starts up the printer then nothing.
Thanks for your help.

RE: Saving to pdf
I do remember a problem with Gimp 2.6 and printing. If you are using Windows XP upgrading to Gimp 2.8.10 can be almost as much a PITA, swings and roundabouts.

I can't really reproduce that scaling effect printing in Gimp 2.8.10. I got throught a load of suggestions but truthfully too many variables.
Page Setup + print image setup + printer setup - all to take into account.

A couple of thoughts

These are going out as pdf's. Most likely that they will not printed off via Gimp, probably the evil (my opinion) Adobe PDF reader. Do they print ok from there.

What is your canvas size for the 7x5 cards, I hope you are using 300 ppi = 2100x1500 pixels. Could be if you import these back into Gimp they get reduced in size to 100 ppi - the default setting (canvas ends up as 700x500 pix) and might print off smaller, don't know what you have done.

Change of colour? Are you getting these cards printed in bulk from a commercial (or on-line) printer? Could be the printing process (CMYK vs RGB) No real solution for this.
