All software that indicates what color profile is used with a picture is at risk. But, IMHO the problem is with the couple Firefox/OSX where the colors applied to HTML aren't subjected to the color profile. Unless what you really should be using is Gfx.color management.mode=1 (see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Gfx.color_management.enabled)

A string containing the full path to an ICM profile for output. Default is an empty string in which case the systems global profile is used. If no global profile can be found a default sRGB profile is used. So you problem could be that since you have nothing there and a Global color profile, the latter is used. You could use this field to force an SRGB profile.
