saving and pasting an image?

saving and pasting an image?
ill try my best to explain but im making an animation with gimp and then i saved it. but now i want to add more layers and paste these images on buuutt when i paste the colors are all faded and weird, does this have something to do with like indexed images or something? im still trying to figure all this out Tongue

Yes, if you image is color-indexed, pasted images are converted and this is usually not pretty. The preferred way is to remain RGB as much as possible and go indexed only when saving/exporting the final GIF.

If you have not closed the image, Ctrl-Z/Undo. Otherwise, no. The conversion RGB-indexed is obviously lossy, you cannot go back.
