Saving a GIF
[Image: k2bg49.gif]

This GIF doesn't look as well as it does on GIMP, I'm not sure what to do about it. This is how it looks like on GIMP, while I'm still editing it:

It's perfectly HD and there isn't a problem.
But after I save it, the colours mess up.

I can simply grayscale this and it will be in high definition again, but I'm wondering if it can be like that with its correct colours?
Also, how do I lower the size of this GIF?

RE: Saving a GIF
With the gif format, since it indexes the colors down to about 256 colors, your original layers may have more colors than that.

This is the posterization that you see in your posted animated gif compared to the layer frames preview.

The Gif preview only previews the layers/frames before they are indexed (unless you go "optimize for gif..."

I think one possible way around this is to optimize your gif first before export it

After making your edits to the layers
Change the image mode to indexed "Image > Mode" and try working in indexed mode to even out the colors.

With cinema-graphs, it appears HD because only a small part of the background is moving so any posturing of colors is minimal (it still happens but less noticeable.)
