Saved file, can no longer interact with image
So I was drawing a picture in gimp 2.6 and saved the file as a .xcf file. Now I cannot interact with the image. brush, select, even the zoom tool do nothing. What happened?

Thank you, I went through the list, but the problem still persists.

Then the usual questions, It is Gimp 2.6 but which OS?

Does Gimp work with other images or a blank canvas?

What is the size of this problem image? pixels - MB - number of layers.

Is it possible to post this somewhere (dropbox-ish) to test on another machine?

RE: Saved file, can no longer interact with image
After restarting my computer the problem went away. I can't replicate the problem. I have no idea what happened...

*Also add if not on the list "Check Task manager for active % processes"

My guess is windows was doing an update when Gimp froze or Gimp's tile cache.

If it happens again, close gimp, open gimp as new (default, no image or project open) then go to

Edit > Preferences > Environment (which should be displayed by default when you open Preferences)

- Set the "Tile Cache size" to half the ram you have, increase it to 1 / 4 you're ram if you're still experiencing freezes.

Example: You have 2gb ram (set to 11024 "megabytes") you have 4gb (set to 2200 megabytes)
