Salvaging dark pics?
Running 2.6.12 on Linux Mint 13.

I used to be able to do quick and dirty salvaging of pics that are too darkin Photoshop Elements 2 using the levels tool. While Gimp has a levels tool it doesn't seem to work quite the same way.

So what would you do to restore a pic like this?

RE: Salvaging dark pics?
I'd use the Levels or Curves tools. You have a bit more control with the Curves. But...

- The picture is very noisy
- The 8-bit-per-color processing in Gimp isn't going to help

However, scaling it down will hide a good deal of the noise.

RE: Salvaging dark pics?
Thanks much! Looks like Curve has the control I was looking for to get some of these to look half decent, if I print any of these it won't be bigger then a 4x6.

Rather happy with this SX150 thoguh, allot better then my old A80, thoguh eventhat could produce passable 8x10 prints even thoguh it was only 4MP.
