remove reflected light from face

remove reflected light from face
Hi all,
I'm a very beginner; I have to touch a photo for the first (and maybe last) time...
my photo is a foreground and the face has a light (sun) reflected on the forehead...
I ask you if it is possible to remove if, if so please explain me very simply

I have gimp 2.8

The face you provided is very small.
I have done the best I can with the glare.

To be serious mfran, you need to give us a copy of the photo to work with as each case is different.

mfran2002, you need to select the area with excess shine, then create a new transparent layer on the image.
With the selection still active, you paint the new layer, and with specific settings for your image, you reduce the brightness in the image below.
The use of blur or smudge will help break the outline created by the selection.
