Remove background from text
I am trying to create a form with a watermark image in Publisher 2013 and the text I want to overlay on the watermark is cut from an image I screenshot, so it has a white background, making overlaying a watermark impossible. There are boxes and bubbles and other items that I really do not want to re-create so that's why I am trying to do this first, before re-creating the entire forms from scratch.

Anyway, what I want to do is A. remove all of the white from the background (even in the spaces between the e's an B's and everything; yes I know it is insane, but I like things to be perfect) and B. I would like to darken the text. Currently is is almost gray-ish and I want it to be black.

I am very very new to photo editing and so far what I have researched and tried out have been colossal wastes of time. I have approximately 50 images I want to edit, but I have posted just one as an example for you here

Thank you for your help!

Doug

If they are all the same as the example, try this sequence

1. Color menu -> Auto -> White balance (makes the text a little darker)
2. Layer menu -> Transparency -> Add Alpha Channel (permits transparency)
3. Color menu -> Color to Alpha (the default is already white)
4. File menu -> Export as -> some_file_name.png (png supports transparency, jpg does not)

transparency shows as black on this forum, so click in the image to view.

You can maybe even skip a step to speed up the process
"2. Layer menu -> Transparency -> Add Alpha Channel (permits transparency)"

As the "Colors -> Color To Alpha" seems to add the alpha channel automatically (I tried it)
