So I've been working on this picture, but there's just one thing that just doesn't work.


I want to make this black bat red. So I select it with fuzzy select.


I choose my desired shade of red and select the bucket tool, all is going according to plan.


I click on the selected bat with my red bucket and...


This isn't just happening with red, with yellow it becomes white and with green it becomes light grey. What am I missing here so I can make the bat the actual color I'm selecting?
