Realtime mirroring of certain area
Hi, I've searched around the web for some function that I think is quite advanced, but I haven't found anything so I thought I would ask here.

The thing I'm doing now is drawing 16x16 graphics that I want to be vertically and horizontally stackable therefor I want to beable to have a realtime copy of the 16x16 I'm working on next to it. Is there a function that can do that?

Hope you understand, it's kind of hard to explain..

I think it's called "tiling". I don't think you can do it in real-time with the current version of Gimp. In non real-time, ha ve a look at "Filters/Map/Small tiles" in standard Gimp or at its bigger brother: http://registry.gimp.org/node/24866

Not what I was looking for but thanks anyway Smile

The ting is that I don't want the image to stay tiled I just want it temporary when I'm making the 16x16 drawing to help see that it tiles good.
I have some knowledge in python, is it possible to write a script that does this?

RE: Realtime mirroring of certain area
In my idea you aren't really producing the full image. The added squares are on separate layers, so you can produce your final image by only saving your 16x16 original layer.

Python is one of the two well supported languages for Gimp scripting. If at the bottom of the "filters" menu you have a "python-fu/console" entry, it's already there. Otherwise you may have to add it, which is a bit tricky under Windows, unless you use the gimp-win installer that includes it.

Ok, thanks for the answers.
And I know that python is supported in Gimp But I'm wondering if such a thing is even possible to do?
