Radio Station Image
I PMed someone for help creating my logo for a FM station project. They suggested I post on the forum so others will benifit as well, with which I agree!

I want to add the letter KAPY & the numbers 91.7 to this image to create a logo for a Community Radio Station.

So I assue I need to create a layer to would contain the letters & numbers, correct?

I have already installed the correct font in windows, I will be using.
any input would be appreciated,,
Bill

RE: Radio Station Image
well once you start the text it creates its own layer, i would suggest doing the numbers and then the letters separately so you can still freely move em about, it can get annoying to try to rearrange it all as one clump. Remember that there are options on text too, you can determine how close the letters are to each other and whatnot. I saw some of the other designs on your site for the station, they look really good, clean, and the colors are great as well, i dont think youll have a hard time at all with this one.

RE: Radio Station Image
for a layer you put in you can just right click on the layer in the layers dialogue box and go up to add alpha channel, i taught myself so its habit to just add a new layer underneath and merge it down, which also works. and then for any new layer they will ask you, when the box comes up just make sure transparent is clicked. best of luck.

RE: Radio Station Image
sorry, ok youre going to right click on the layer and add the alpha channel then once you do that you can grab the lasso the free select tool and go around your picture and then invert the selection (right click >select>invert) or you can grab the select by color tool its the finger pointing to the three colors click on black and then hit delete, and then place a layer underneath with black, or the color you would like. ill upload an xcf of it in a sec.

if you use this one i would right click on the white layer >alpha to selection> and then go over with white, i just copied image from the forum so its a bit grainy on the white.
