Radio.
Spent a few days working on this one. Didn't follow a tutorial for it, I thought it was about time I came up with a design of my own. It's based on the DAB radio I use at home. The now playing song was on the radio at the time I wrote it in and I thought it was pretty apt considering the amount of PS tutorials I've robbed along the way. ![]() My DeviantArt gallery http://caz747.deviantart.com/ |

RE: Radio.
Thanks.
The buttons are pre-set switches and the on/off button. There are some labels on the real radio so I will add them to the design. Also planning to add a speaker behind the grill, just need to work out how to make it first. ![]() My DeviantArt gallery http://caz747.deviantart.com/ |

RE: Radio.
Caz I liked it.
An input for USB and it would be a bestseller. ;-) Where there are tutorials that teach this? Most I have seen are for PS, and very long. |

RE: Radio.
I like the cone gradient, gives a realistic metal knob look, great job Caz! ^^ I wish there was an online streaming Gimp radio with gimp news/ custom/requested music

RE: Radio.
Thanks, Akros. Unfortunately there is no Gimp tutorial for this design. Mostly I try out PS tutorials and adapt them to work in Gimp. This is the one I based the knobs on http://abduzeedo.com/awesome-amp-controls-photoshop It takes a bit of experimentation to get the effect in Gimp.
Thanks IFS. I wish Gimp Rock was real too, I'm sure it would be a cut above the rest. ![]() My DeviantArt gallery http://caz747.deviantart.com/ |

RE: Radio.
Thx Caz,
I'll have to schedule a day with enough time and inclination to mess with this tutorial. Trying to translate the PS to Gimp will not be easy, but I'll try. The result is quite interesting. Fluffybunny2, will the Selection Bevel 2.3 script is indispensable in this tutorial? My question is would not have another native gimp script that would allow me to do the same. ![]() I avoid downloading scripts / puglins I do not know how to use or will use only once to play a tutorial. ![]() The Selection Bevel 2.3 script is 2011, and since then much has changed. Does with Layer Effect puglin / script, would not be possible to follow this tutorial? When in doubt, I'll download this script and play the tutorial to the letter. Then I will have a better idea of how it works and I will keep it or delete it. ![]() A curiosity, Draconian has some incredible tutorials! But since when I joined GC not seen her more active. FB2 think I'll have good fun with this tutorial! Thx u! |

More than likely, once you know what it does, you may find something like LayerFX Bevel & Emboss may do a similar role. He also has an Indicator Light tutorial and accompanying ready-made scripts for both too. |
