RE: @ Questions from a begginer
To remove a "docked" dialog, drag it outside the dock window and drop it on your desktop, it will create a separate window that you can close.

You can drap & drop picture on Gimp. If you drag in the empty Gimp window or on the Tools palette, it opens a new image. If you drop on an existing image window, it adds the image as a layer, you can also drag the image to the layers list and get it inserted as a layer where you drop it. If you have a

RE: @ Questions from a begginer
My problem is on left side of GIMP window under TOOLBOX after the two color boxes that you can swap up or down there is nothing other than it says
[YOU CAN DROP DOCKABLE DIALOGS HERE],there nothing in that space all the way down to bottom of window.I want to get that window back,it has all the settings, like the fonts ,text,I remember a A at the top of that window under the two boxes that you can swap back and forth, hope this is more understandable
I tryed dragging what it says but nothing moves
Thanks

Aw, yes, dockable dialogs. I assume you are seeing something like this:

I assume that you were talking about the "Tools options" dialog? This dialog changes with the active tool. You open it using this menu:

It opens as an isolated window:

But you can drag it after clicking in the area that I highlighted

You will obtain what you were looking for I think (it shows the Font selector because the selected tool is the Text one).

Notice above the two areas I highlighted at top and bottom: theses are area to which you can drag other dialogs to order them vertically. You can also drag over the existing dialog and the dialogs will organize themselves with index tabs. This is my usual setup:

RE: @ Questions from a begginer
The one selected in the Tools palette above: the Text tool (Text). If you select another tool, you get different contents for the Tools options dialog.
