Python gimpfu outside of gimp?
Hey,
So I need to change the palette on a bunch of files to a custom palette in gimp. After testing everything in the gimp python-fu terminal I wrote a short function to handle everything, however I cannot import gimpfu outside of the gimp python-fu terminal. I couldnt find a definitive answer online, and I couldnt find gimpfu.py on my computer. I don't need a plugin or anything like that, I just need to be able to feed in file names and have the edited files saved somewhere. Any help would be appreciated

Otherwise, gimpfu is just a "facade" over Gimp itself, it contains very little functionality of its own. So what you need to do is call Gimp in batch mode and have it call your script. Either you call Gimp once and your scripts churns over several files (directory, or explicit list) or the script call Gimp on every file (likely slower).

Hop over on this thread where I just posted a sample python script that processes several files as well as whatever is necessary to have it Gimp start it in batch mode.

Thanks, batch mode will work perfectly
