Problem viewing layers...
I am fairly new to Gimp and am having a problem viewing layers. I use it to outline photos for a friend who paints pictures, using the saved layer as a transfer. I open the photo and create a new transparent layer. I draw on the layer and eventually save it. However, I would like to occasionally view the layer to see the progression and check for missing lines. When I go to windows>docking>layers and try to view just the layer, I get a dark checkerboard pattern. I can barely make out any lines. Am I doing something wrong? Is there any way to view the layer without the checkerboard pattern? Any response will be appreciated. I am using Gimp 2.6.10
