printing question?
Hey there,
I'm new and I have been using GIMP 2.6.
Is there any possible way to print double sided?
Thanks Smile

RE: printing question?
That is a property of your printer rather than Gimp

You need to look at the print setup in whatever operating system you are using.

I know from previous experience that unless you have a laser printer it can be a long tedious operation. With a inkjet canon for example, there is a long delay set between completing one side and pulling the sheet back in for the reverse side - it is to allow the ink to dry.
Much easier to do all your printing on one side then manually turn the pages over.

edit: I am being a bit too basic there and just concentrating on your printer rather than Gimp.
AFAIK there is no way to produce a multi-page document with gimp, you can have layers but not pages.
I would suggest importing the images into a libreoffice or a word document and printing from there.

edit again: I never thought of doing it this way.

Save your image with layers (ie the pages) as a mng animation.
Use ImageMagick (a command line tool) to convert to a pdf. You now have a multipage pdf to print.
Get IM from http://www.imagemagick.org

edit again: I hope this is not information overload
I know many people are not comfortable with commandline apps such as IM.
This one, XnViewMP will do the conversion mng -> pdf with a graphical interface (well it works here... Wink
get it from http://tinyurl.com/budgos3 there are versions for several different systems.

There is a batch conversion function, works ok with a single image.

You might even try printing the .mng file straight from XNviewMP. It looks like it will print each layer as a separate page, but it will all depend on how your printer is set up. Worth a try.
