print / canvas size - too much geek needed to understand
I used scale image to make a 2.314" x 3" image to print so it'll fit in a frame that I have for that same size. When I print it out the size looks great but it's over on the edge of the 4x6 paper and most of the picture is cut off. I tried reading the help but got more confused because it said that I should use print size and not canvas size but when I change the print size to 4x6 it also changes my canvas size back to 4x6. I still have my original so I can do this again but what I want is a 2.314"x3" image to print out on my 4x6 glossy paper. Thank you.

Can you make a sample screenshot of what your image looks like with rulers on & the status bar on?

"View > Show Rulers"
"View > Show Status bar"
=============================
When you scale your image you want to go to "Image > Scale Image" yes, but
You're changing the "Document size" to print, not the "Pixel Dimension"

When you change the document size, it auto-sizes the Pixels.

So under "Document Size"
Determine what is your short side, the height or the width.
Then check on [V] Constrain Proportions
Look at "Resample Image" and pick the appropiate, if yoru enlarging, etc.

It maybe as simple as image needing to be cropped, there might be some white or grey space on the other edges.

After, see if you can make sense of this video and do some draft testing(if you want to save on ink) by making a new document and painting dots around the border of your image on the canvas(which should be all white), then resizing the document, cropping(look at status bar for pixel dimension while cropping, then redraw dots on empty side/s)
and size or image scale like in the video.
