Please help me understand a step (IWarp) from this tutorial
I am trying to make a flame effect on this text. I found this tutorial here: http://davidwoodfx.blogspot.com/2011/11/...ffect.html

I am done with the first few steps but I got stuck at the step where we will apply IWarp. The tutorial says, "Make a selection around the letter," which is very ambiguous. I tried selecting the surrounding area with the Fuzzy Select Tool as well as the Alpha to Selection but the IWarp dialog box still shows a grayed out OK button. See the screenshot.

Can someone please help me understand? Or may be I am going wrong with the selection and/or IWarp filter.

You are probably ok. To me it looks like you have not made any deformation and the OK button will be grayed out until you do something.

Click and drag in the dialog display, gently distort the edge as it says in the tutorial.
