Pen Shape/Rectangle Select Tool Shape Disappears When Try To fill
sup everyone!

not sure what the deal is here. i'm basically making a shape with the pen tool, then i click the paint bucket, then the shape disappears. i've also done this with the rectangle tool and the exact same thing happens.

usually, it will work when i frst open the document, but after i start making new layers/text then i try to do this, the shape i make disappears.

anyone know how i can keep the shape so i can select the paint bucket tool?

figured it out.. you have to goto view, then click show selection after you draw the shape and the marching ants will appear around it for anyone having this problem.

interesting, thanks for the info.

so you cant fill anything with the pen tool? can you not draw shapes with gimp then?

- draw path
- path to selection
- bucket-fill selection

okay i see, you were giving me instructions in the post above. thanks for that.

i was just confused on the path list dialog. i found the path list dialogue in the tab that is next to the layer list.

very useful, thanks ofnuts.
