Patch Border Transparency?
When useing my old favorite graphic software MS Picture-It i often
need to apply overall or border transparencies to many patches.
Since im enjoying the pleasures of GIMPs select definitions which
absolutely cause no distortions im often thinking - this be the only
missing thing. Am i correct or do such functions like previewable
halfways restoring of the previous look plus border fading indeed
already exist in the new GIMP?

RE: Patch Border Transparency?
Because im specialized in violent video game fanarts.
But back to topic - i also urgently needed brushes with up to four turnable gradients or similar.
See as example my latest syndicate collage - i want to repair the two bright spots on
the lower left face side only im trying airbrush pointing and the results vary inexpectable.

RE: Patch Border Transparency?
Or maybe better - a tool where you define a circled area that afterwards
disappears and joins the border colours together as various gradient!
Such thing were extremely great for any image corrections.
Because when using the known methods im always ending
up with hours of working with airbrushing or even pixeling.

RE: Patch Border Transparency?
I looked in this but cant find it out.
Maybe i will experiment with the original gradients tool
Btw. - if you exactly study the picture above thers another difficult
problem namely the yellow spreaded on the white violetish armor pieces.

RE: Patch Border Transparency?
liquid rescale is actually a really cool plugin

checkout this really good example of discard mask in action

This example was on a blog page but I can't find it, it had some pretty good examples too!

For the gradient tool(select bi-linear), you could add a layer mask to the image and use a small gradient line to create semi-transparent edges to your picture (save as .png)
