I have text on a transparent background.

I did it before but I've forgotten how and I can't find it.

I have red text, for example.
How do I add a white background around that text now? Basically, the outer edges of the text become white.

RE: Outline/highlight
It's the image you saw a while ago, and will see again in my other thread in the Freelance subforum.

It's hand drawn text... Do you know of a font similar to this, a way I can redraw it properly so it looks right?

- edit with Text tool
- strike "Path from text" button
- Edit/Stroke path with parameters to your liking

- Layer/Transparency/Alpha to selection
- Select/Border (define outlline thickness)
- Fill selection to you liking (bucket, gradient...)

Only the first method will keep corners sharp.
