Opening .eps win32
Hello, I just came from gimp 2.6 so I was using the old PROG environment variable method.

2.8 has changed this and I've been googling but I'm confused how to open.

Would someone please provide some clear instructions for opening .eps?

Here's one way, be sure to read all the instructions first before you download & install the ghostscript(link on 2nd page)

This Has link to the "ghostscript" mentioned in first link

First the good news, eps support is built into Gimp 2.8
now the bad news, it does not work.

For reference, there is a fix for 64 bit Windows here;
http://blog.tjitjing.com/index.php/2013/...cript.html

I tried the equivalent in 32 bit Win7 with Gimp 2.8.6 and no good.

However, a similar fix, you need the libgs-8.dll from Parthas 32 bit Gimp version and use it to replace the equivalent file in C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\bin\
(or you could just install and use the Partha version, http://www.partha.com/ )
For the file, no real need to install it, rename the installer to .zip and unpack it. Find the libgs-8.dll file. (or I have done it for you.)

Tried in a Win7 32 bit with Gimp 2.8.6 and it works.

It is a big file, 9MB zipped, so get it here
http://www.mediafire.com/download/1wdpie...-8.dll.zip

remember to unzip it.
