Only top 2 corners rounded
Hello all. This is my first post here as I've been learning Gimp using most video tutorials. For my first question, I need to know how to create a border with just the top 2 corners rounded? I saw a video tutorial, but the instructions were not clear at all, and it also paid no attention to details like how to make the the corners the exact same size.

Any help would be appreciated. I want to use it for my company's marketing emails, so the top 2 corners would be rounded while the bottom will align with my email page (see att'd sample).

Thank you all!

As usual ninja'd by ofnuts. Roughly the same but with pictures Smile

Just the obvious

Make a rounded selection, then fill
Put a rectangular filled selection as a layer above (dropped the opacity to show)

An alternative is make the rounded selection, (red dots) put the select mode to addition then add a rectangular selection which 'cancels out' part of the first selection.

RE: Only top 2 corners rounded
Thanks ofnuts and rich. Not sure if this is as good, but late last night. after thinking it through, I made the image 2 x the hight I wanted, the I rounded the corners, and finally cropped the bottom half. It seems to provide me with the same results, but I need to play with the rounded corners a bit as they are sized for an image twice what I am using... Thanks again.

RE: Only top 2 corners rounded
If you look up at that screenshot, the rounded corners come from the selection dialogue.
Rounded corners ticked, and radius set in pixels (shows zero for 90 deg corners) Set to whatever size is required. You can make a selection and adjust this value 'on-the-fly'
