Old man needs help!
Hi All,
I am a 74 year old retired computer engineer just trying to use gimp. I am trying to create a book cover I need to get my book published. I have used PS in the past but gimp has me stumpped.

The book cover has only one image and a dozen lines of text, one rotated 90 degrees. Is should be very simple. I could do it in PS in about 15 minutes if I had PS.

How do you add an image to an image you are creating?
Where can I find a simple "Basics" (starting out) tutorial on gimp?
Where can I find a simple "Basics" tutorial on text editing and/or changing in gimp?

Is there someone I could call with simple questions like this? I need to get the book cover finished as soon as possible.

If some one would point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Dick Roose
