Noob question
Is there a way to take a color from another image and paint with it?
For example; ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us I would like to take the black and blue background color from this image and use it as a paint. Is that possible? |

RE: Noob question
So that texture you mean?
Or just those two colors? You can copy it and then if you go into your brushes menu, there is an option for the clip board for your Brush. |

RE: Noob question
It would be easier to redo it from scratch.
Filters/Render/Lava, use "Deep Sea" gradient, and stretch vertically. ![]() |

RE: Noob question
you could make it a pattern. you could make it a brush to, but i dont think the outcome would be something of your liking. good luck.

RE: Noob question
Great paint job, I like the way that looks! Maybe it's just me, but I keep thinking how cool that Alienware head would look right in the middle of the hood.

RE: Noob question
i used to have a hard time too with it, its my best friend now, what exactly messes you up? i used to never adjust my brush to a good size for me, and i used to do longer strokes than i needed and would get the white or the wrong shade, small strokes, single directions at a time and the right size brush are top notes from me.

I think this is one of those problems where the solution is to simply avoid the problem rather than fix it. A quick search found plenty of Alienware logo images. Simply paint the hood like you had it before and then cut this image out of its background and paste it, or another one you like better, on top. Maybe reduce the opacity of the logo a little so the texture shows through. I also ran across this wallpaper site. They've got several with good looking heads you could use. They also have the original blue image you posted at much higher resolution (1600 x 1200) as well as the same image in red. Team Alienware with one blue truck and one red! ![]() |

See there:
http://gimpforums.com/thread-changing-a-...parent-png The logo above isn't very easy to work with because it has a drop shadow. You'd have better find another one. ![]() |
