No disk in \Device\Harddisk1\DR1
I've been using GIMP 2.10.8 under Windows 7 Pro 64-bit for several weeks now, but recently when I try to open GIMP I get the following error message: "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \device\Harddisk1\DR1."

That path would make sense under Linux, but not under Windows. If I just click "Try Again" GIMP is opened successfully. But why this error?

RE: No disk in \Device\Harddisk1\DR1
Replying to my own question: This web page says "This issue occurs when you have a removable drive configured as drive letter C and you do not have a removable disk in the removable disk drive" and suggests going to Disk Manager and changing the drive letter of the removable drive. I checked Disk Manager and saw that I do not have any removable drives assigned to Drive C: so just on a whim I tried rebooting my computer and now the problem seems to be magically fixed. I will never understand all they mysteries of Windows.
