new user- lost everything
So this is my first time using GIMP and after I spent 2 hours on a project, I decided to not save it as an image file but as a project and might have pressed something weird and hit 'save as template' not really knowing what the hell it was, but only that it didn't seem like it was going to save as a flat image. I'll admit that was wrong. At any rate, it crashed GIMP, and I lost absolutely everything. I tried but the /tmp folder is empty.

Is it really gone forever? If not what can I do to recover even a part of it.

Sorry, but Gimp has no autosave (but you can find plugins for that).

On the bright side, if that was your first time with Gimp, you must have spent most of the two hours figuring things out so redoing it should take much less time.
