new member introduction
Hello there... been using Windows Gimp for 3 years now. Just acquired
Mac mini Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.5 in Sept. 2013... so I have gimp for mac now.

I registered to share and hopefully find solutions to problems I may
encounter with gimp.

I have been reading on the web the problem of many dealing with
the CLONE TOOL use... for MAC!

In windows, the CONTROL key is held down while selecting
the desired color and the same key for applying the color correction.

In MAC... the COMMAND key is used instead of the CONTROL key.
[Located immediately on either side of the space bar key of the MAC keyboard.

CIAO!!! Smile

AWSESOME! Its good to see a cross-operating system user testing Gimp! Im a win user myself:

Does gimp for you run faster/smoother on the mac mini or windows?

Lol, the command key/apple key does replace wins ctrl key, it can take some getting use to.

I always wanted a macbook, until your reply, welcome to the forums cheers!

Unfortunately, my top of the line Windows Vista Hme Premium PC was problematic
inspite of hi-speed computing (lots of ram) with hard drive replaced twice in 4 years and I'm not a video gamer... the reason for a change to Mac.... but my 15 year old Dell desktop... Win98 2nd edition is stll running... using a 50th version back of Firefox with free source Clamwin antivirus in place and clam sentinel running in real time.

I must admit the Apple Mac mini shows an awesome sharpness and true color for the Mac gimp and the LED LCD HD 1080p monitor resolution for my Blu ray movies are even more crystal clear with awesome realistic colors with good skin tone color appearance of the actors. I will know sometime later if the Mac mini will be able to support 16 to 25 layer of detailed gimp image manipulation.

Apple is not in Blu-ray business. One has to google for a Blu ray external usb reader/re-writer optical drive and a 3rd party downloadable Blu ray movie software to enjoy ones Blu ray collection using the Mac.

Somewhat irrelevant, but good to know if I ever need to transition from blue ray from W to mac.
