New at gimp
Hi there,

My name is Sandra and i'm from the netherlands.
I just discoverred gimp yesterday and i have never used a photoshop program at all.
So everything is new.

I'm kinda stubborn because i always want to start with the difficult things and skip the beginners lessons.
For now, i have seen some tutorials and made some pictures black and white with the eyes standing out in green, made a filmroll and torn a photo apart.
That's not hard to follow on youtube.
For now i guess i have to start at the beginning for ones, and not skip the basic skills, so i can really learn how the program works.
I'm blond, but luckily i am not stupid with these things (maybe with other things.....Blush) so i usually get the hang of it pretty soon.

That's it for now.

Greetings Sandra

RE: New at gimp
Welcome Sandra ^_^ My advice to you is start with a text/photo based tutorial online, you can better pace yourself that way (don't have to constantly pause a video, only scroll to the next step)

Then if you can find a tutorial video with a similar effect / technique, go with that ! Smile

Sometimes there is only one or the other, so when you get stuck, you have the forums and we can try our best to help you.

Be sure to check out my tutorial videos (link in my signature below) for some cool effects Big Grin

Also, click my username on this forum to check out my previous tutorials if you're feeling brave, they vary in difficulty, but will help you learn your way around Gimp. Happy Gimping!

RE: New at gimp
Thank you very much,

I will absolutely check out the tutorials.
I quess you are right about trying to follow a tutorial with pics and text first.
I found that a bit more difficult, but i would probably learn better because i would have to think more. Big Grin

If i get stuck, i will ask your help. Wink
