Needing help with Live Stream.
I've said something about this problem on the Livestream forum last year but so far, no one has helped me with this error. Some other guy had the same problem, but no one helped them either. So, I've decided to ask about this, here.

My problem is that my Livestream procaster crashes after I click on 'Go Live'.
Not right after, but once it gets to 'Starting H264VSofts Encoder'

Um, the computer I'm using is really old, but it works fine, and rarely lags, so I don't think it's my computer which is causing this error.
Cheers . . .

Is the livestream player flash based?
What is your OS version & year that you got your computer?

H.264 plugin is somewhat mostly used for HD video

Is there another encoder option you can pick?

If not, try setting the video quality to "Medium + Mobile (876kbs)" or lower or adjusting to a more compatible less cpu intensive codec (encoder) if possible through preference in the procaster app

I don't exactly understand?

Windows XP
I don't know for sure when my dad bought this computer, but since it's Windows XP, then it must have been somewhere inbetween 2001 and 2005.

I've tried everything that was below 446Kbps, none worked

RE: Needing help with Live Stream.
A quick look at 'Livestream' and very much 'social media' and not for me.
however
Did the livestream podcaster http://new.livestream.com/broadcast-live/encoder ever work for you?

A bit of digging and it has some stringent requirements

Quote:..using our Livestream Procaster, make sure you have an HD-capable computer and certified video device. Visit our store for more information on how to purchase a turnkey Livestream certified HD Encoder. You could also build the encoder yourself or buy a card and computer and integrate them yourself. Procaster lets you encode up to 4 bitrates at the same time from a single machine!
Livestream \u00b7 http://www.livestream.com/
You will need a dedicated Internet connection with at least an 8Mbps upload speed to support HD multi-bitrate. Read our Internet 101 to learn how to test your connection.

H264 encoding is not a big deal. If you have your video recorded (somehow) then the free video editor Avidemux will encode to this format. Much used with say, youtube.

RE: Needing help with Live Stream.
I've downloaded something in your link, and the program gave me a decision, I could un-install the Procaster, fix any errors or I could upgrade.
First, I chose to fix any errors, and it didn't fix anything at all.
Neither did upgrading the procaster.

I'll try out Avidemux in the morning , thanks.

RE: Needing help with Live Stream.
I think your hardware might be too old, I hope I am wrong. Also I think you are looking for something more 'immediate' than recording a video from say your webcam then editing/recoding with Avidemux.

In the mean time, do you know of the 'MakeUseOf' ebooks.

http://www.makeuseof.com/pages/ no need to register or buy anything, look for the pdf link under the title to download.

Online Broadcast
5th row down on my computer.
a quick look and bits in here about livestream and similar sites and setting it up.
