RE: Need help with a logo (ideas)
Looks like a subject for IforStyle007 Wink

but first,
size limitations that will affect complexity
The general 'flavour' of the organisation, like the Green Party has a tree, that sort of thing.

Yes yes please discribe more of what you want your logo to look like. Maybe even sketch a rough draft of what it could look like.

Or if you have source images that you can use, post those up (link to) & I could throw together a couple design ideas.

***BTW, is ofc "out of context" (clarifying) ? I know RP like in RPG

"In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than fear of failure." BC

Just throwing a few thoughts in. Please remember that I am not the most artistic or original of people.

From your organisational chart I pick up the theme colours, light blue and dark blue.

Some sort of inter-twining either a logo or letters is all ways a good bet.
Just a matter of positioning, making selections and painting.

Circular Text, all about it here.

The font is your Champagne Bold. Even that I think is a bit on the thin side, does not stand out in small sizes.

Background, is a home made mesh I had at hand. Should be a lot smaller but a gold colour is good, gives confidence. It is of course bump-mapped. You should be familiar with that process now.

Drop shadows on the lettering, to bring out that smaller type. Outlining with a dark colour is another option. (text to path, stroke path)

For construction, use guides and grid to keep everything symmetrical. You can always adjust the canvas size at the end. Keep all your intermediate steps as layers, Not needed, turn them off, you might need them in the future. Save often, nothing worse than coming back and finding half your project missing.

attached my stab at it.

RE: Need help with a logo (ideas)
Lol, sorry it took so long, I was making a draft or two for the actual cards out-of-context ><, but here is my try at the logo.

@Rich: Nice logo, I like the overlapping letters.

(click for full detail, its a little bigger & clearer)

I used the geo sans light font.

Do you want all the positions(vice, etc.) like the Bureau logo you linked or just the "San Andreas Democratic" part?

As soon as I hear back from you I'll get started on it.
.
.
.
For my above my logo idea
=For the curved(slightly) text=
I did
"Filters > Distorts > Curve Bend..."

*But Rich shows the better way using text along a guided/selection, so be sure to watch his video above ^_^ (I'll remake one more with the circle Bureau text when i get a chance)

=The Globe=
If found a free map clipart (or you can make a simple map drawing using the Pencil or Paintbrush (pencil)(paintbrush) tool.
-I selected the squashed map with the Ellipseselect ellipse select tool.
"Select > Invert.." to select the background of the map layer, push delete. (leaving it round)
Duplicate the layer.

For the shading/3D effect...
- Choose the Blend gradient blend tool, then "Shape: Radial" left-click-drag a line from the center of the globe towards the outside some.
- Change the layer mode to blend it well
File > Create Screenshot... "Grab the whole screen (make sure the globe is in view)
Open a new image (temporarely)
- Paste as layer, or rename layer after pasting
then Fuzzyselect fuzzy select background
"Select > Invert" to select the globe
"Edit > copy"
minimize that temporary new image/project.

Bring back/maximise your project with all the text & layers. Paste your composited globe on the top.
"Filters > Blurs > Gaussian Blur... (blur just enough to blend the line edges of the layer some"
- Set layer mode to "Screen" This gives the cloud like light effect.

=For the Text shadow/ reflection "Where the community meets"=
Make a separate text layer from the "Sand Andreas one"
Type "Where the community meets" Underline it if you wish...
Duplicate that layer, name it "Where... shadow"
Use the Flip flip tool to flip it vertical, then again Horizontal.
Perspective Use the perspective tool to stretch it outwards some (drag the two bottom corners outwards)

=For the surface/floor Globe reflection=
-Add a new transparent layer
- use the Rectselect rectangle select tool and select the half from the bottom of the text "Where..." to the bottom of the image.
Blend pick gradient blend tool "Shape: linear" & drag a vertical line toward the bottom
*Make the line longer to make it softer. Offset: 0.0
-Drag the floor gradient under the text shadow.

Last, Copy the globe layer
Paste it and do a vertical Flip flip tool. (Horizontal also if you need to...)
Move with the move tool, move it to the bottom of the image like in my design.
-Adjust the layer opacity to 60.00 or less to make it washed out.
