Missing DLLs!
Hi all,

So Basically Gimp has been running fine and all. However, just today I opened it up to use it, and it gave me this error message:

So naturally I'm more than confused. The DLL is there, but Gimp says otherwise.
Help me GimpForums!

RE: Missing DLLs!
The screenshot is not showing the DLL on your disk but inside a .RAR. It looks like your Gimp installation directory has been converted to a .RAR by mistake?

RE: Missing DLLs!
Ok I think I may have fixed it.
Right when I installed Gimp, I made a .ZIP file just in case, you know, to hold onto any files I might lose.
So what I did was Copy+Paste in the "bin" data into the concurrent "bin" folder ans it seemed to work.

However now I have a new problem. When I try to open any image other than a .XCF or a .DDS (added that plugin), I can't. I dragged a .JPG into GIMP, but it gave the following error message.

Any Help is most welcome!

RE: Missing DLLs!
You are likely missing another bunch of DLLs, for instance gimp/2.0/plug-ins/file-jpeg.dll. Better unzip the whole thing or reinstall.

RE: Missing DLLs!
Is there any possiblity of just DLing the missing DLLs or would a total reinstall be safer?

RE: Missing DLLs!
I don't know any site where you can get the DLLs one by one. In your case reinstalling would be best. if you added extra stuff (brushes/patterns/gradients/scripts/plugins....) in your Gimp profile (and not in Gimps installation tree), then you won't lose anything, since the Gimp profile is kept across re-installs (if it is the same Gimp version). Otherwise you'll have to find out what you added to the installation tree (hint: in Windows the creation timestamp of a file is when you put it on the disk, so all files from the Gimp install will have more or less the same creation timestamp (when you installed) and things added later will have later timestamps).
